What is Massage Therapy?

Assessing & addressing areas of tension & imbalance throughout the body by manipulating soft tissue using techniques such as; kneading, stretching, stroking & pressing.

Types of massages available

Remedial

A therapeutic treatment seeking to remedy, or prevent, medical conditions or ailments, generally targeting specific areas of tension and contributing imbalances.

Swedish/Relaxation

Consists of longer, soothing strokes to ease away your cares along with any discomfort, promoting a deep sense of relaxation & well being, encourporating a full body treatment allowing you to switch off for while.

Myofascial

Fascia is made up of one continuous structure running through the body from head to toe, providing structure & lubrication, for movement, as it wraps around every muscle, bone, organ, nerve, artery & vein. Myofascial release is primarily gentle, prolonged tractioning of different areas of the body affected by constructions within fascia, seeking to eliminate pain & restore movement. This deeply relaxing treatment is beneficial on its own or can be used to compliment other massage styles, often providing longer lasting results, particularly for chronic conditions.

Sports

Targets specific muscular groups used in the particular exercise you engage in, incorporating more stretching & whilst also focusing on tendons, aiding in reducing post training discomfort, decreasing risk of injury, assisting in rehabilitation post injury & increasing flexibility.

Deep Tissue

Focuses on trigger points (concentrated areas of restriction, or knots) and targeting deeper layers of constricted tissue.

Pregnancy

Specifically designed to ease the discomfort & stress placed on a woman's body as she progresses through her pregnancy; addressing areas of tension, fluid retention, easing aches & pains whilst reducing any stress or anxiety, leaving the Mum To Be in a deep state of relaxation, giving her some well deserved time out whilst preparing her for a much needed restful sleep.
